History remembers those who make the history.
There are only few brave hearts who challenge the world and work against the status quo to make it the better place and some do the opposite. These are the people create an impression in history and are remembered by the people forever. How do they do it? How do they create a name for themselves that never dies? And today’s article is to remember those people from around the world, who have challenged everything and made it better. Some people love them and some hate them but no one can ignore them simply because of the work that they have done.

Mahatma Gandhi
The leader, the bapu, the father of nation, this is the man who with his ideals of Truth and Nonviolence, single-handedly challenged the British colonizers ruling India at that time. Inspired by the stories of Raja Harishchandra told by his mother, Gandhi worshiped and followed the path of truth his entire life. His life is a true example of sacrifice, he sacrificed everything in his life for his nation India, and it’s people. Always stood firm on his ideals of truth and nonviolence. He is the true leader and remains in the heart of every Indian. He united Hindus and Muslims and led India to freedom. After the independence he did not choose any post or power and did his duties towards the nation as an ordinary man, again sacrificing everything. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse because Nathuram resented Gandhi’s accommodating attitude to India’s Muslims.

Alexander The Great
Some people say he was the son of God Zeus and some say he was just a mortal like us but no one knows anything as he himself said, “some things are myth” and this is one of them. Challenged the armies of the whole world and created a single empire of kingdoms ruled by one king, Alexander himself. He put his dream of united world ahead of even himself, and his journey to find the end of the world was his vision however changed his mind in India and returned home. And killed by the poisoned drink given to him by his own soldiers and generals. If myths are to be believed, he knew that drink is poisoned but he still drank that. And world lost the greatest of greats.

Abraham Lincoln
Amongst the greatest leaders of America, president of the people, who challenged the slavery of black people and brought it to an end, to give them their due rights and make them equal to the white people. He was the true leader who united all the americans at the time of civil war when the whole nation was burning. He fought and won for the rights of the weak, justice, equality and unity. He alone united the US congress, people of America and soldiers against the southern rebels and created this safe and equal future for the United States of America as we live and witness today. He was assassinated by the rebels which brought the whole nation to tears but united them again to bring the killers to justice (with death penalty).

Ashoka The Great
Reportedly he was betrayed by his own father and stepmother who plotted and executed the killing of his real mother. He was also hated by his brothers. After the killing of his mother Ashoka killed every single one of his brothers. Declared war against and massacred every territory, killed so many people for the revenge of his mother’s killing. The great Indian king who conquered and ruled almost the entire Indian subcontinent as we see it today. But after the massive killings in the Kalinga war, he came to realizing what he had done and he chose Buddhism, the path of peace and harmony. After that he dedicated his entire life to nonviolence and spreading the message of Buddhism all over the world.

Adolf Hitler
Even though he is responsible for the destruction caused during the world war 2 but he alone challenged the western countries attempts to exploit and humiliate Germany. I am sure everyone knows about Hitler’s hatred to the Jews but few people care to know about his Love and contribution towards Germany and Germans. He however created history and was never caught even after his death. Everyone knows about the failed attempts by British, Americans and Russians to kill Hitler. And when the end of the war was evident, instead of surrendering he reportedly chose to commit suicide.

Jesus Christ
The son of god, came to earth as a human. He gave his own life to unite people on earth and showed us the true meaning of love for humanity. He was crucified in Jerusalem after he was accused of claiming to be the King of the Jews by Jewish elders of roman empire. He died on the cross on Friday (commemorated all over the world as Good Friday) and came to life on Sunday (Which is the reason why we celebrate Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday) and then people started worshiping him as the God.

Born as a prince, son of King Śuddhodana of Kapilavastu. At the age of 29 he left the palace in search of wisdom and knowledge. Born as a human just like us, but after years of ascetic life he achieved enlightenment to become the Buddha. He also traveled around the world and spread his teachings to show the human beings the real truth of life.

Muhammad, Prophet of Islam united all the Muslims under one religion. He with his teachings made sure that every Muslim follow some rules to pray the God that is one as claimed by him. He was believed to be the messenger of God, sent to reinvent Islam.

The god of all the scientists, who contributed his whole life for the world. He however regretted one thing that he helped in creating ‘the nuclear bomb’ after the bombing of the pearl harbour.

Cursed by the gods, after the death of his father the life of Genghis Khan was on run. He is the only Muslim leader who killed the muslims to teach them a lesson to respect the woman, united everyone and created a new future for Islam and Muslims.
