It’s a must have app.
Facebook connects more number of internet users than any other platform, (Even more than Google). And with everything happening on the go on our smartphones, we don’t want to miss any updates from the world around us, our friends and circles. And with heaven’s grace Facebook has managed to bind all of its numerous features in its relatively simple app that allows us to be online on FB on the go.
Messenger
In an attempt to isolate its most popular and important features from its core app (Instant Messaging), into a relatively much simpler app that is very easy. It is particularly a favourite of people like me who use Facebook most of the times for messaging especially on the smartphone.
Google Maps
This is one of the most popular and definitely the most useful app. Especially for people who spend bulk of their time outdoors moving around with no time to spare for navigation or finding places. Google maps is always with us wherever we travel around the world. The path of the whole world is in our pockets with live traffic data, updated lanes, roads, buildings and much more. And I believe, even with all these features already present on Google Maps, it is still evolving with many unexplored possibilities of how this powerful tool can be used to empower people in all the different ways. Google Maps is a functionality that defines the utility of smartphones.
Google Chrome
It might not be an example of elegance and grace in a mobile app but definitely is the most technically sound browser on smartphone. Even at a time when there is an app for everything the browser seems as important as ever. And we need to access the web time to time on the go, and google chrome app makes it easy for us to do that.

While it is the most necessary ‘Must Have’ app with all the security related features that you are ever gonna need. All of them described in detail here. What’s really shocking is not the usefulness of the app. Google makes some really useful apps. But despite that it’s almost a ‘hush hush’ app with a petty user base between 10-50 Million users.
Gmail
No one unaware of ‘The most popular emailing platform in the world’ and email remains among the most important modes of communication despite social media being so popular. And everything happening ‘On the Go’ the Gmail app is not only a must have but rather a lifeline. Especially for people who have their work emails configured to come and go through their Gmail accounts. A topic I wanna cover in a dedicated post in the future may be.
YouTube
Everyone knows how massively popular YouTube is. But with the elegant and simple usability of the YouTube App, Google has managed to maintain the popularity of the video network for pro-mobile users.
Google Drive
Now we all store our data on cloud so that data can be accessed easily across all our devices and for all the ‘Google Family’ apps. And the Google drive app does a particularly good job of managing all the user data on our smartphones allowing us to store music, videos, pics and files from anywhere with this app and access them from everywhere.
Google Hangouts
Mostly popular in United States this app from google allows us to do messaging on the move. However it’s not as poplar as Whatsapp but still this is one of the best messaging apps. Specially for users who have google account and want to be in touch with their friends and family on the go.
