4. Pretty Prudent
By: Jacinda Boneau & Jaime Morrison Curtis
What it is about: Two prudent mamas’ best parenting advice for you, especially when you are uncertain
Why follow The Prudent Mamas on Pretty Prudent
Follow the lead of two prudent mamas Jaime and Jacinda raising their kids and finding beauty in small things. Like making a poodle skirt for your baby daughter or giving her prudent advice that’ll build her character as she grows up. One of Jaime’s advice (from her book ‘prudent advice for every woman’) that stuck with me was – When something tragic happens to someone you care about, do not ignore them just because you don’t know what to say. (Just so that you know I am a guy, 22. I thought I am past the stage where I could learn something from mama).
Parenting is tough. You would do anything to make sure that your kid has the best preparation for her future. I know this because my mom raised me- a child born with a permanent disability and it’s because of her determination and perseverance that today I am doing much better than most of my peers.
At times when you have no idea what to do, a little advice like this can be a great help. At such times being amongst mamas just like you really helps remind you that- You are not a not a bad mom! You are a good mom, just having a bad day. Not just that, you can totally rely upon Jaime and Jacinda’s parenting advice when you are uncertain. Don’t take my word for it – go ask any of the 300 thousand mamas like you who follow Pretty Prudent.
5. Free Range Kids
By: Lenore Skenazy

What it is about: Worlds worst mom’s advice on raising safe, self-reliant children without going nuts with worry.
Why follow worlds worst mom:
Follow Lenore’s blog and her advice to ‘raise safe, self-reliant children (without going nuts with worry)’. She is famously known as “world’s worst mom”. She even has a Reality TV series by the same name. (Just google ‘world’s worst mom’). So why on earth would I advise you to follow ‘world’s worst mom’? Because as moms today, you are much more preoccupied with your kids every second of the day. Are they safe? Whether they are learning? Are they getting enough out of this moment? Whether they are making the best use of their time? You are really afraid for them all the time. If you can remember that was not the case with our parents.
I remember when I was 13 I told my mom how I got up that morning and bicycled 22 miles (11 miles one way). Majority of the distance was on the highway and as I said before I am born with a permanent disability. But she was like -‘Try going further next time’. Not that she didn’t care about me. She was bold enough to give me responsibilities and let me take decisions earlier than she had to so that I become self-reliant. Guess what, I am amongst the very few in my country (less than 0.2%) who have the guts to drop out of college to pursue their dreams. Today, my peers are yet to graduate and I am already doing better than they will be in 2-3 years.
Thank you, mom!
Here’s a 2-min sample of my reality show where where a little help from Lenore changes a kid and his family’s life forever
What most mamas today don’t realize is- Your kids will remain kids, unless you give them a chance to grow up and take their own responsibility.
This is better articulated by Lenore herself, in an interview on ‘Big Think’
6. A Mom’s Take
By: Janel Case
What it is about: 5 moms’ expert take on everything that moms do – from recipes to traveling.
Why follow A Mom’s Take:
A Mom’s Take is 5 super-moms Aimee, Janel, Aubree, Meagan and Jonna sharing their mom’s take on everything that moms do – from recipes to travel. Unlike some of the other blogs in this list A Mom’s Take is small with only 5 contributors. The information, products, and ideas that these 5 super-moms share is tacit and based on their own experience. And the frequency of posting is not too high, so you can actually follow the advice without being overwhelmed. Plus there is a

8. Rage against the Mini Van
By: Kristen Howerton
What it is about: A mama’s rant and gossip talk.
Why follow Rage Against The Mini Van:
Here’s the reason why Rage Against The Mini Vaan made it to this list- There are many blogs with great ideas for kids, amazing craft inspiration, scrapbooking help, and stunning photography etc but as a mom you deserve your fair share of gossip and ranting be it about impact of the skinny jean on your self-esteem, your tendency to spill food on your laptop, or your inappropriate crush on Jon Stewart. Because that’s the only way to express whats happening inside your head. Discussing these things with other moms, be it on social media or blogs like Kristen’s help you cope. By interacting with moms in these communities will help you know that you are not crazy and you certainly are not the only who thinks this way. A friend, Rica Lewis runs a similar blog- YogaMatMonkey. You might want to check that out too.
9. MomTrends
By: Nicole Feliciano

While what she has achieved is really admirable, I am most impressed by her book – Mom Boss: Balancing Entrepreneurship, Kids & Success Which is a must read for every mompreneur (and wannabe mompreneurs as well). Here’s the reason in her own words as to why you should follow her –
